Obituary For Pearl Dunbar Finnell

Chesapeake- Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, cousin and friend was called home on Friday; May 17, 2024. Pearl Dunbar Finnell was born December 20, 1951 to late Lillian & Early Haskins.

Pearl attended Crestwood High School. She played softball for the Crestwood Royalettes growing up. Pearl grew up in her family church of St. Stephens. She loved shopping in her past times on Saturdays and would be seen at Roses waiting in the parking lot before they were open.

Pearl dedicated 35 years of employment for Barry Robinson Center. She loved her big family with her whole heart. Mrs. Pearl was loved and respected by her community.

Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, James Finnell; her grandson, Dession Haskins; great grandson, Jamari Haskins; two brothers: Lee Haskins and Melvin Worsley; and one sister, Gladys Knight.

She leaves to cherish many beautiful memories of her, her four daughters: Bridgette Ricks (Floyd) of Emporia, Crystal Worlds (Washington) of Va. Beach, Latisha Dunbar (Larry) and Kizzy Mott (Troy) both of Chesapeake; her one and only baby boy, Miquel Haskins (Nicole) of Chesapeake; 19 grandkids, 40 great grandkids; 2 sisters: Eunice Barron and Barbara Jean Knight both of Chesapeake; two brothers: William Henry Knight and Joseph Haskins (Beulah) both of Chesapeake; one aunt, Irene Dolberry of Norfolk; one special great niece, Candace Thigpen; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and freinds.

A Homegoing Celebration will be 12:00 noon Saturday; May 25, 2024 at St. Stephens Holiness Church; 128 Welch Lane, Chesapeake, VA 23320. Her remains will be placed in church 2 hours prior to service. Visitation will be 4-6pm Friday; May 24, 2024 at Fitchett-Mann Funeral Services; 1146 Rodgers St., Chesapeake, VA 23324. Burial will take place 11:00am Friday; May 31, 2024 at Roosevelt Memorial Park.
